Fruit Compote



  ● 1 large can pear halves

  ● 1 large can peach halves

  ● 1 large can pineapple chunks

  ● 2 cans mandarin oranges


  ● 3/4 cup brown sugar

  ● 1/2 cup melted butter

  ● 1 1/2 tsp. corn starch

  ● 1 tsp. curry powder*


Drain fruit well and mix in a 9×13” baking dish.  Melt butter over low or med/low heat, then add other sauce ingredients and stir until sugar is completely melted and mixture is heated through.  Pour sauce over fruit.  Bake for one hour at 325 degrees.

*To make this dish more palatable for little ones, I use ½ tsp curry powder and ½ tsp cinnamon.
